Calling All Fudge Makers – Make March Blueberry Fudge Month!
On occasion, due to winter, the secret kitchen strays deeper into fun when it comes t0 North Carolina blueberries. We went over the top a bit here and apologize in advance if you were expecting a raw, organic, low sugar, good everything experiment. It isn’t the first time. We understand if you turn away for the moment!
We have 4 cool North Carolina Blueberry Council T-Shirts for four fine fudge chefs who submit their recipe for a blueberry fudge they created. We are unofficially calling March 2014, Blueberry Fudge Month. To celebrate the melding of March, blueberries and fudge, we need a few fudge geniuses to help.
The images included below are from an ongoing experiment in the secret “NCBC” kitchens. We are calling this “Blueberry Fudge Parfait”.
This is the third attempt to get a picture and mouth tasty “Blueberry Parfait Fudge” down. Version #3 is an almost-ready-for-prime-time original creation that features organic, dried blueberries sandwiched between two layers of fudge. We are sharing this latest version to stimulate the brains of blueberry-inspired candy makers among you!
Our brutally honest assessment of Blueberry Parfait Fudge 3.0?
1. Needs way more blueberries
2. Need to figure out why the white fudge doesn’t set up as well.
3. Better next time to cut each recipe in half. Way too much fudge in the fridge!
We admit to pursuing a basic recipe for fudge that anyone with a stout spoon and arm can make. The idea is to make something fun the whole family can do without special tools and cookwear. (We suggest stout arm ’cause there is a lot of stirring involved.)
In any case, here is the deal, if you have a fudge and blueberry recipe to share, send it via our contact form, along with a picture of the final product! We will need your name and address as we will randomly select four recipes to share on our site, Facebook, and Pinterest. Those selected will get one of our cool t-shirts.
